About
Workshop Overview

Clean and sustainable energy is of paramount importance for all applications in propulsion, power, energy, and mobility. The workshop will bring together renowned experts from around the globe to share the latest fundamental and applied research innovations for cleaner energy utilization in a wide range of devices extending from hypersonic propulsion to micro scale devices using fossil and renewable fuels. A round-table discussion will also be held with the aim to identify key areas of common interest that will help develop strategy to promote collaborative research.

The workshop will have several tailored technical tracks with presentations from world renowned technical experts in the field of multiphase flows, fossil and biofuels, combustion, power and propulsion and air toxins with special focus on current and future R&D needs, challenges and opportunities.


About

The International Workshop is a jointly organized workshop by University of Maryland, College Park, University of Illinois at Chicago, ACRI CFD, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, and conducted at IIT Kanpur-Delhi campus (Outreach Center Noida at Sector 62) from January 19 to 21, 2024. It is the 12th workshop in a Series on Status of Combustion and Energy.

The event is supported by NSF, ONRG, IITK, IITD, Begell House, Springer, CAFFEM, ATOS, BIS, Convergent Science & ELICO Marketing.


Highlights
  • Invited lectures by renowned experts in the field of fuel, bio-fuels, energy, power, propulsion, environmental pollution including CO2, and sustainability.
  • Poster presentation competition for students.
  • Contributed chapters would be published by international publishers after the workshop.

Who can/should attend?

Researchers and engineers from academia, R&D organizations and industries working in the areas of fuels, energy, combustion, power, propulsion, hypersonics, air pollution, sensors and diagnostics, modelling, fossil- and bio-fuels, alternative energy, energy-water nexus, droplets and atomization, novel combustion concepts, engine combustion, gas turbine combustion, swirl flows and other related areas.


How to Reach
  • Nearest airport is Delhi (DEL), about 30 km (~45 minutes drive) from Outreach Center Noida at Sector 62, is well connected by international and domestic flights. Pick up by Taxis/private vehicles would be arranged from DEL to Outreach Center Noida.
  • New Delhi railway station (NDLS), about 21 km from Outreach Center Noida at Sector 62, is a major rail head. It is well connected to Delhi, and other parts of country. Pick up by Taxis/private vehicles would be arranged from railway station to Outreach Center Noida.
  • Ghaziabad railway station (GZB), about 12 km from Outreach Center Noida at Sector 62, is another railway station nearby. It is connected to Delhi, and other parts of country. Pick up by Taxis/private vehicles would be arranged from Ghaziabad railway station station to Outreach Center Noida.

Call For Posters

We invite student researchers in the field to submit abstracts for the poster presentation during the workshop.

The abstracts for the posters must follow the guidelines layed out in this template (DOCX). They must be submitted by emailing them to ashoke@iitk.ac.in on or before January 5, 2024.



ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation will be arranged at the IITK Noida campus (Outreach Center Noida at Sector 62) for the invited speakers. Limited accommodation will be available for the participants based on single/twin sharing basis depending on availability. The Participants will have to bear the miscellaneous expenses.
